MICHAEL DEACON IN THE TELEGRAPH
"My feather blade was meltingly soft, falling apart at the merest glance of my fork.... Lemon Posset... pure swirling dreaminess, as clean and bright as spring air.... Those Bib Gourmands were well earned. And you won't eat anywhere more relaxed." There are just some of the lovely things Michael Deacon has written in The Telegraph . There's nothing quite like a national paper review to put a smile on your face. We're proud and pleased as punch!
St George's Mushtooms are utterly delicious and rather rare - one of the few edible wild mushrooms to come out at in the Spring. They're very hard to find but luckily, our forager knows just where to look... whilst he's busy picking our wild garlic of course - another of our wild Spring favourites!
FRESH TRUFFLES FROM THE PERIGORD!
Here in the UK you don't often get to taste fresh Perigord Truffle straight from the Dordogne markets. So we dispatched Beccy to seek some out for us and Matt is excitedly planning some truffle dishes to go on the menu from this Friday. It makes our Dinner, Bed and Breakfast even more of a treat So perk up the end of your February and book now.
THE MICHELIN GUIDE 2018
Yes more fab news for the pub. The new Michelin awards were announced at the end of September and we are thrilled to have retained our Bib Gourmand for the third year running!. Michelin awards Bib Gourmands to pubs and restaurants that they believe offer excellent quality food at an affordable price. This is exactly what we strive to do here, and its so great to be recognised!
THE GOOD FOOD GUIDE 2018
We were chuffed to bits to retain our fantastic score of 4 in the 2018 Good Food Guide which came out in September, the score came with a super write-up, so we couldn't be more pleased!
